overview
We are looking for people who would like to use compost to reduce food waste.
Compost means "compost" or "compost". By using compost, food waste from your home can be fermented and decomposed using the action of microorganisms to create compost.
This time, we will use Komham's "Smart Compost" to compost food waste from participants' homes instead of turning it into combustible waste. There is no need to put a smart composter in each home.
Purpose of this initiative
Food waste has a high moisture content and requires a lot of energy when incinerated. Converting such food waste into compost will lead to energy savings and the realization of a recycling-oriented society.
This initiative is experimental and will be implemented in future residences including River City. It can be used to make full use of the site .
What is the town development campaign where people can continue to live?
This initiative is also part of the "Livable City Creation Campaign."
The "Livable Town Development Campaign" is a campaign that aims to help the local community based in River City develop into a sustainable society. By promoting the use of recycled resources and smarter energy usage, we aim to put into practice SDGs Goal 11, ``Creating cities where people can continue to live and continue living''.
You can participate in this campaign through three programs.
① Composting program aiming to reduce waste
② Recycling program to utilize resources
③Energy saving program using Nature Remo
The energy saving program using Nature Remo in ③ is only applicable to those who have already applied. Therefore, this time we are only recruiting participants for 1) a composting program that aims to reduce waste, and 2) a recycling program that utilizes resources.
Benefits for participants
By participating in this program, you can expect the following:
- Reduces the amount of food waste generated from households
- Can reduce carbon dioxide emissions from incineration
- You can actually experience SDGs and eco-related initiatives
- There is no need to install compost at each home, so you can easily use compost without worrying about pests or odors.
especially, The process by which microorganisms decompose food waste is perfect for children's education and independent research. In fact, when a demonstration experiment was conducted at an elementary school in Shibuya Ward, many children were interested. Please join us with your children.
