One-point advice from Professor Hoshizuki
The theme this time is "Water."
We will tell you the importance of daily hydration.
Hello everyone.
This is Hoshizuki.
It's been hot lately, how are you doing?
It is said that the ideal amount of water to drink is 2 liters per day.
In adults, 55-65% of body weight is water.
Losing 1% of that makes you feel thirsty, and losing 2% can cause dizziness, nausea, and loss of appetite.
Losing another 10% can lead to fainting, and losing 20% can be life-threatening.
(It seems that if you can't drink even a drop of water, it will become difficult to survive within 2-3 days...)
If you stay well hydrated every day, you can expect detoxification effects and improved skin quality.
The amount of water you need to drink varies depending on your age, build, season, etc., but it's generally 35ml per kg, so a good guideline would be 1750ml for a 50kg person and 2100ml for a 60kg person.
(Food also contains water, so you can include that in your calculations!)
Some people may say, "I don't like water..." but tea or sports drinks cannot truly substitute it.
Try drinking it in small amounts by trying different things, such as making it hot water or adding fruit.
Also, coffee and alcohol have a diuretic effect, so drinking too much of them can actually lead to dehydration.
This does not count towards the 2L of fluid intake per day, but be sure to drink more fluids when you need to go to the bathroom more often.
How you drink is also important; if you drink too much at once, your body will not be able to absorb it and it will be excreted in vain, which can cause chills and swelling.
Aim to drink a glass (150ml to 200ml) as frequently as possible, especially when you wake up, when you exercise, before and after bathing, and before going to bed!
